Milford certifies uncontested 2025 election and swears in four councilmembers

The Milford City Council on a regular meeting in April certified the results of the city's uncontested 2025 municipal election and swore in the four councilmembers declared the winners.
The City of Milford Board of Elections reported it met on March 6, 2025, to certify the annual election in which there was only one candidate for each council seat. The board declared Daniel Marabello the Ward 1 councilperson; Nadia Zichel the Ward 2 councilperson; Danny Perez the Ward 3 councilperson; and Jason James Sr. the Ward 4 councilperson. The board members listed in the meeting record were Karen Boone, Carlene Wilson and Donna Merchant.
The winners were administered the oath of office by the Hon. Nola Eason Primo of the Superior Court of Delaware. Each office carries a two-year term that begins following the administration of the oath, the certification said. The meeting record shows no members of the public signed up to speak during the council's opening 15-minute public comment period.
The council's certification of the uncontested results followed the Board of Elections' formal declaration on March 6. The judge led each newly elected councilmember through the standard oath language affirming duty to the City of Milford and concluding, in each case, with "so help me God."
