Scott told the board Carver County ranks among the healthiest counties in Minnesota and the United States on many measures but said that “not everyone in our community is able to access and utilize the wealth of resources we have.” He identified mental health and affordability — including housing, food security and transportation — as top resident concerns and said the county must focus on resource navigation and equitable access.
The proclamation, introduced by Scott and read by Board Chair Tim Workman, recognizes Carver County Public Health’s partnerships with community groups and its goal of promoting health equity. Commissioner Lynch moved to adopt the proclamation; Commissioner Uterman seconded, and the board approved it by voice vote.
