Votes at a glance: Sussex County Council approves contracts, sewer actions and funding on March 4, 2025

Sussex County Council on March 4, 2025 approved a set of professional agreements, purchase orders, annexations and funding measures and took separate votes on zoning and conditional-use items.

The council approved awarding a five-year professional aeronautical consulting agreement to Delta Airport Consultants for services at Delaware Coastal Airport; authorized the issuance of up to $9,963,400 in general obligation bonds tied to the Warwick Park septic elimination project (phase 2); approved two annexations into the Sussex County Unified Sanitary Sewer District (Travellini parcel and Bay Oaks subdivision); accepted a county engineering recommendation to purchase an elevated storage tank for the Inland Bay loop project and approved a related $1,903,250 purchase order to Pittsburgh Tank and Tower Group; and approved two budget items on the consent agenda. Council also approved $2,200 in county funding for American Legion Post 8 emergency aid to veterans, and passed two resolutions to pursue Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) applications, including an Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing resolution and authorization to submit applications to the state housing authority.
