Council adds Crescent Place parcels to Miller Creek sewer district area

Sussex County Council adopted a resolution extending the boundary of the Sussex County Unified Sanitary Sewer District to include the Crescent Place development in the Miller Creek area, the council record shows.
The action permits the county to provide centralized sewer service to parcels proposed for the Crescent Place project, which the applicant said will contain 57 single-family lots and a clubhouse.
Engineering Department staff said Beacon Engineering LLC applied on behalf of The Evergreen Companies LLC for annexation of Parcel 134-1924 and adjacent land contiguous to the existing Miller Creek boundary. "Project will be responsible for system connections and charges in place at the time of connection," Mister Ashman told the council. Notices were posted and advertised; engineering staff reported no correspondence in support or opposition to date.
At the close of the public hearing, the council read a resolution to extend the boundary to include Crescent Place in Baltimore Hundred and recorded it with the Recorder of Deeds for Sussex County. A motion to adopt the resolution was moved by Mister Riley and seconded; council members voting aloud recorded "yes" votes and the motion carried.
No members of the public spoke at the hearing in person or via telephone on this annexation. Engineering staff noted the project is adjacent to existing Miller Creek boundaries and had previously been authorized for posting of public notice.
