The Jackson County Finance and Audit Committee voted to waive readings and hold all ordinances and resolutions on its agenda, the committee chair said during a brief meeting.
The committee chair told members the items were “bound up behind the idea that the budget remains an unresolved item for fiscal 25” and proposed waiving the formal readings and moving to hold the measures unless any member wanted to address a specific item. A committee member moved to waive the readings and a second was given. With no objections, the chair announced the ordinances and resolutions would be held in committee.
The action leaves the ordinances and resolutions on the committee docket without formal consideration until the fiscal 2025 budget status changes or a member asks to bring a specific item forward. The chair closed the finance and audit portion of the meeting after the vote.
