Central’s iPlan summary tool introduced; CEP/DCEP public postings delayed

Gus, a central office presenter, told District 25 leaders that a new city-provided iPlan resource is available to help with progress monitoring and to summarize schools’ submitted challenges.

Gus said the central office created a set of district folders and a report extract from iPlan that shows which schools completed progress-monitoring checks for each priority area; the report includes a “challenges” column. The central tool includes an AI summary box; Gus described it as a stock prompt that summarizes the text schools enter rather than performing new analytical inferences.

Gus told the DLT that district teams — not individual DLT members — will run the tool and produce summary reports to inform revisions to school action plans and updates to the District Comprehensive Education Plan (DCEP). He cautioned that the tool summarizes textual input and that the district team should interpret the results, rather than treat the summary as a substitute for human analysis.

Separately, Gus reported that District 25’s CEP and DCEP files were not appearing on the public website due to technical problems at central office. He said his expectation was that central would “fix whatever problem they have” and that the files would post later in the week; he apologized for the delay. He also noted that posting lag and incomplete uploads are a citywide issue and that SOT and PAC documents on iPlan lag behind as districts adopt the new procedure.

District staff said they will share updated download lists with the district team when available.
