DPAC chair Christopher Mitchell steps down; alternate Catherine accepts role through June

The District 25 DPAC announced a leadership change in its March meeting when Chair Christopher Mitchell stepped down for personal reasons and the alternate, Catherine, accepted the chair role for the remainder of the school year.
Meeting facilitator Jenny explained the bylaws process that places the alternate in the chair role when a chair resigns. She asked Catherine whether she would "take the position as the chairperson for the remaining of the school year, which is March, April, May, and June." Catherine responded, "Yes. I accept for March, April, May, and June. I'll move up."
Jenny said the bylaws and minutes would be posted to the DPAC shared folder and later signed after approval. She said the alternate seat created by Catherine's move will be filled next month; central office will advise whether the group will hold an election or accept volunteers for the vacant alternate position.
Jenny thanked Christopher Mitchell for his service and asked central staff to help update the district website to show the new chair. The meeting packet, she said, will include the bylaws and the minutes for review ahead of the next meeting where any bylaw amendments or elections would be considered.
