District 25 briefed on updated CEP/DCP templates, new foster-care and MTSS sections and timeline

Gus, a district staff presenter, told the District Leadership Team that the new District Comprehensive Plan (DCP) template will be available May 16 on iPlan and that it contains several substantive and stylistic changes intended to align the DCP and school CEP documents.
"The new DCP template will be available, May 16 on iPlan," Gus said, adding that the template would include changes that reflect the new CEP arrangement.
Gus described major changes: a revised assessment format; clearer alignment between needs assessments, identified root causes and action steps; a redesigned and streamlined progress-monitoring tool to be released over the summer; added guidance on students with disabilities (SWD); an expanded MTSS section with clearer definitions for Tier 1–3 supports; and a new section specifically for students in foster care.
Gus said central staff will provide timelines and that schools will be able to use the old template for progress monitoring entries already entered; central will transfer existing content where possible. He also said schools that had missing goals in the old CEP would need to add them because not all content carries over automatically.
Gus outlined key dates: an attestation and budget alignment deadline around July 11, superintendent certification around July 25, a revision window through October 24, and a finalization/public posting target in early December. He told DLT members that District 25 schools have completed progress monitoring for their CEPs and that he would continue to provide support over the summer.
He warned that schools cannot retroactively add monthly SLT pack items to months before April in the new portal and advised schools to keep electronic copies of earlier documents.
Gus said he had prepared a handout breaking systemwide priorities into suggested actions by priority to help schools translate central recommendations into goals and action steps.
