After‑prom will return to Cabot High campus; arena and auditorium to host event

School officials told the board that after‑prom activities for Cabot High will take place on campus in the arena and auditorium after prom on April 26, with security, programming and student check‑in procedures designed to keep students on campus.
Administrators said they had evaluated off‑campus and on‑campus options and selected the on‑campus arena adjacent to the cafeteria because it eliminates the need for students to cross streets and allows use of campus facilities. The event will use the arena floor (covered for protection), the arena big screen for prizes and video, and the auditorium for a stage program (organizers said a hypnotist or similar performer is tentatively scheduled).
Students will check in at the main entrance and be monitored by security; once students enter, they are expected to remain on site. Organizers said volunteers and security staff will staff doors and check‑in points. The district also plans activities, games and giveaways in the arena and intends to use existing campus spaces to host the event.
Administrators invited board members and the community to note the date and said they would continue planning with volunteers and campus staff.
