District reports progress on Pre‑K buildings, annex and field‑house renovations

Deputy Superintendent Byrd reported the two Pre‑K buildings (Pre‑K North and Pre‑K South) are in the dry and undergoing interior painting and tile work, with expected completion in late May or early June, weather permitting. He said a few exterior doors remain to be installed.
Byrd said the special services annex behind the central administrative office has completed interior framing and is being sheetrocked; exterior brick work has begun and the project is ahead of schedule, with a possible June or July move‑in date. He also reported carpet replacement work scheduled for the central administrative office during spring break.
On athletics, Byrd said field‑house renovations remain on track for an April completion. Locker room expansion work is finished, lockers installed in the football locker room, and training equipment is arriving for the new training room. Byrd said training tables should be installed by the end of the week following spring break.
Board members asked for questions; no substantive concerns were raised during the update. The district said it will continue to monitor schedules and share timeline changes as needed.
