The pantry schedule given at the meeting: Mount Carmel pantry on Saturday, May 17, 10:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m.; an extra Mount Carmel distribution on Friday, May 16, 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.; and the Wilford Park pantry on Saturday, May 31, 12:30 p.m.–2:30 p.m. The staff report noted each pantry serves roughly 250 families per month.
Regarding the blue envelope initiative, staff said the county had adopted a program in which drivers carry a blue envelope containing information about a person’s communication needs; the village will mail the envelopes to residents who want to participate. Participants place the envelope in their car and present it to an officer during a stop to improve communication and reduce anxiety, the report said.
