San Benito CISD trustees approve 2025–26 calendar, wide consent package and multiple personnel actions; interlocal agreement pulled for later review

SAN BENITO, Texas — The San Benito Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees on April 16 approved a broad consent package that included adoption of the district's 2025–26 school calendar, authorization for administration to negotiate with an architect for upcoming facilities work, and preliminary qualification steps for design-build firms tied to a planned Performing Arts Center. The board also approved employment resignations and renewals discussed in closed session and moved forward with the nonrenewal of one teacher's term contract; an interlocal agreement was pulled from the consent list and later received no action.

The board approved calendar option A for 2025'26 after district staff presented the proposal. "We want to make sure that we meet the minimum instructional minutes that are required, mandated, 75,600 minutes of instruction," said Miss Cornett, the district staff member who presented the calendar.
