Springdale council gives local consent for Switchback package-agency change

The Springdale Town Council voted March 12 to provide local consent for a Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services (DABS) package-agency contract for Switchback Grill and Trading Company, LC, at 1149 Zion Park Boulevard.
Staff contact Erin Emerson explained that the DABS recommended changing the applicant’s package-agency type from a Type 3 (a small rural liquor store model) to a Type 2 (a package agency operated in conjunction with another business where liquor is not the operator’s primary income, such as a convenience store). The change required a new local-consent form and thus the council’s review.
Councilors described the matter as routine and related to DABS administrative classification. Motion language recorded in the meeting directed the town’s local business licensing authority to review the local-consent request dated March 12, 2025, and give written consent to the Alcoholic Beverage Services Commission to consider the issuance of a package-agency contract to Switchback Grill and Trading Company, LC. The motion authorized the mayor to sign. The council vote was recorded as: Jack Burns, aye; Randy Eton, aye; Barbara Bruno, aye; Pat Campbell, aye; Kyla Topol, aye.
