Trustees asked Human Resources to formalize a regular system for measuring employee morale, engagement and retention and to produce actionable reports that inform campus and district improvement plans.
Tammy from HR described current tools (exit interviews, Frontline analytics for turnover and absences, and the Panorama platform for student and staff climate) and said the department plans to design a survey cadence, tailor existing survey instruments and standardize exit interviews to increase response rates and usefulness. ‘‘We have the survey system that we have in place. We have some exit interviews. But I'd like…to implement additional ideas and make sure we have a plan,’’ Tammy said.
Trustees requested that HR time survey administration to maximize participation and provide summaries back to staff and trustees so respondents see follow-up actions. They also discussed using Frontline to analyze turnover drivers (retirement vs. resignation vs. mobility) and asked for a consistent exit-interview process to capture why employees leave.
Ending: HR will draft a plan to measure employee morale, set a recommended survey schedule, standardize exit interviews and use Frontline and Panorama data to report trends; trustees asked for periodic summaries that show follow-up actions derived from the surveys.
