An unnamed commenter asked that if an agency had declared itself lead, it should nevertheless “bring the local communities, the different groups in the communities into determination of what's gonna happen along that place. Give us a voice in it.”
James Carpenter, of 233 Woodworth Avenue, told the council he had not reviewed the evening’s agenda and said, “I don't even know all of what is on the agenda for tonight. I just know that I'm against massive construction being dumped on the West Side Of Yonkers.”
Council President Collins Bellamy invited additional speakers; none signed up. The council proceeded with its stated agenda after closing the public-comment period.
The comments were made at the start of the stated meeting and were not tied to a formal agenda item during the public-comment period. No council member announced specific follow-up actions in response to the remarks during the meeting, though the South Broadway rehabilitation item (item 4) later appeared on the agenda.
