The White Plains Planning Board on March 18 voted to schedule a public hearing April 15 on a site plan amendment for 55 Meadowbrook Road that the property owner said would expand the second floor and replace an existing garage.
Owner Jenny told the board, “Hi. I'm Jenny. I'm the owner of 55 Meadowbrook Road. And we're adding addition and, expanding the Second Floor, higher ceiling. ... And the house is next to a water stream.” The applicant also said the project would enclose a breezeway and build a new garage with a second story within the existing footprint.
The board treated the property as an environmentally sensitive site because a stream runs through the lot; under that designation, the project requires planning board review and a public hearing. After brief questions from board members, the board voted to schedule the hearing for the April 15 meeting; a motion to schedule the hearing was made and seconded and the board voted in favor.
The hearing will give members of the public an opportunity to review and comment on the site plan amendment and any proposed mitigation for work near the stream. The applicant confirmed she has received the public hearing requirements and will return to the board on April 15.
