The City of White Plains Planning Board on Feb. 18 determined the Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Estates at Ridgeway subdivision is complete for purposes of scheduling a public hearing and set the hearing for March 18.
Board members said the DEIS was thorough. Board member Liz Marinan called it “a very good and complete document,” and several members said no further presentation was necessary because they had seen the materials before.
The proposal is for a 106-lot subdivision on a site the board described as environmentally sensitive. The board said staff and the applicant, representatives from Farrell (Corey Solomon and Diego Villareal), should stand by to answer questions at the public hearing. After brief comments from members expressing no substantive objections to the packet, the board voted to schedule the March 18 public hearing.
The action before the board at this stage was a procedural completeness determination to allow public review and comment; no land-use approvals or conditions were adopted beyond scheduling the hearing. The board did not debate substantive mitigation measures at the Feb. 18 meeting and directed that the matter proceed to public hearing for detailed review and testimony.
The public hearing will be held on March 18 in the same chamber, at 7 p.m., as announced at the meeting.
