The Dover City Council on the night of the public hearing approved a resolution to abandon a short alley segment north of Lockerman Street to enable consolidation of six parcels intended for the Downtown Dover Mobility Center.
City principal planner Dawn Nelson Williams told the council the alley is about 132 feet long and just over 1,500 square feet, and that earlier reviews by the planning commission and the council's utility committee recommended approval with conditions to relocate two dumpsters and to relocate an existing waterline at the expense of the Downtown Dover Partnership or its successor (the design must be city-approved).
The abandonment request followed related property transfers: two parcels previously owned by the city were donated to the Downtown Dover Partnership and two other parcels were acquired by the partnership's successor entity, the Capital City Transformation Alliance. Nelson Williams said…
