The City of Poughkeepsie Zoning Board of Appeals approved a resolution on May 13 granting the requested relief for a revised development at 654 Main Street following a presentation and review by city‑hired parking consultant Colliers.
Board members said the applicant reduced the originally proposed unit count (previously reported as 28 or so) to 18 units and improved the design to better fit the neighborhood. The chair noted Colliers, hired by the city, reviewed the applicant’s parking study and concluded the study’s methods were appropriate based on field observations. The applicant told the board the project was redesigned in response to public comments and that the design changes improved the site and the look for the neighborhood.
After closing the public hearing (no speakers appeared in the May 13 session), the board voted to adopt an approval resolution as posted and made available to members. The chair moved to approve the resolution and a second was recorded; the board voice‑voted “Aye” with no oppositions or abstentions announced. The board did not record a roll call vote for the matter at the meeting because no member reported opposition or abstention.
The resolution covers the site fronting on Main Street and Reynolds Avenue and was approved “as written and made available,” the chair said. No motion amendments were reported on the record; the applicant and board members expressed appreciation for collaborative revisions made during the review process.
The decision grants the relief described in the posted resolution; staff will publish the signed resolution and any final conditions on the city’s records for the project.
