Porch Fest co-organizers Mary and David Henningsen and host Michelle Boden White said the event began as a small, socially distanced neighborhood effort during the COVID-19 pandemic and has expanded to roughly two dozen porches and more than 40 performers. Organizers estimated last year’s crowd at about 500 people and said they want to add porches and better pedestrian linkages so isolated porches receive foot traffic.
