Members approve after-hours park mowing by Alex at $11 an hour; continue work on job descriptions

Members at the meeting voted unanimously to allow Alex to mow the city park and the community center after hours for $11 an hour and agreed to continue working on job descriptions.

The meeting moved out of an executive session on a personnel matter after a motion to adjourn the executive session was made and seconded; the motion passed unanimously. "I move that we, adjourn from executive session," one member said, and another replied, "Second that," with the record later noting, "Let the record show that we're unanimous," as the session concluded.

After returning to open session, a member proposed hiring Alex to perform after-hours mowing at a rate of $11 per hour. "I make a motion to let Alex mow the city park and by the community center at $11 an hour," the member said. The motion was seconded and approved unanimously.

Members also discussed continuing work on job descriptions related to the personnel matter. One member said they would reconvene to focus on job descriptions and encouraged colleagues to annotate draft sheets before the next meeting: "Put those things down on paper so that when we come back to the next time, the next meeting, we'll be closer to being there if that makes sense."

The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn. Members noted that the next meeting would be on May 5 and made informal plans related to a strategic planning session. The motions to adjourn the executive session, approve the mowing arrangement, and adjourn the meeting were recorded as unanimous votes.
