Granite County accepts gravel and trucking bids, reserves yardage allocation for later

Granite County commissioners accepted multiple bids for crushed gravel and a separate trucking bid, and approved a motion to accept the bids with specific yardage allocations to be determined later by geographic need.

Bids presented included: Bob Weaver Construction (3/4" crushed gravel) at $12 per yard (10,000-yard listing, $120,000 noted in the bid summary), T3 Roth Products at $13.39 per yard, and 348 Grama Company at $13.25 per yard. A single trucking bid from Grady (listed in the record as "Grainy Trucking out of Drummond") was submitted for a belly-dump trailer unit, with the unit price referenced as $1.45 per yard for 18-yard capacity trailers in the bid documents presented to commissioners.

Commissioners discussed using the accepted price up to 15,000 yards and allocating the material geographically based on where roads will be worked this season. "So I guess go ahead and accept the pay if you're done so that we could once then we'll put it back on once we get better weather and start seeing where we're gonna go and make a make a choice on where we're going and what we're gonna use," one commissioner said while moving the motion.

The board voted in favor of accepting all bids with the condition that specific yardage percentages will be determined by county staff once roads are accessible and requirements clarified. The trucking bid was accepted separately and will be used for hauling as needed. Staff were directed to return within two weeks with recommended percentage allocations and a plan for geographic distribution once weather allows field assessments.
