Planning commission grants two-year extension for Purdue Research Park Phase 3 Part 2

The Area Plan Commission voted unanimously to grant a two-year extension of primary approval for S-4122, Purdue Research Park Phase 3 Part 2, extending the subdivision’s approval to July 15, 2027.
Kathy (APC staff) explained the phase’s primary approval was set to expire next month and that the property is currently zoned I-3; a requested OR zoning change remains continued and was not before the commission. The staff report noted that earlier, some variance information from 2009 had been mistakenly included in a staff packet; staff advised commissioners to ignore those items and said all original approval conditions still apply. Staff recommended approval of the extension.
Mary Anne Owen of the law firm Stewart & Branigan, representing the Purdue Research Foundation, told commissioners the foundation met all applicable standards of the subdivision and zoning ordinances and requested the extension through July 15, 2027. She said she was available to answer questions. With no public opposition, commissioners returned a unanimous ballot in favor of the extension.
The extension preserves the subdivision’s previous conditions and allows additional time for the petitioner to satisfy outstanding requirements and pursue development under the current approvals.
