The Granite County Board of Commissioners voted to accept five-year lease renewals for the county hospital building and the Drummond Clinic with the Granite County Hospital District after the district submitted the only proposal following a public solicitation.
Brian, identified as CEO of Granite County Medical Center, told the board that state rules require periodic public solicitation and that the hospital district was the only proposer. "Every 5 years, both by statute, we're supposed to put a newspaper for proposal. We did that. And the only proposal, which is pretty obvious, is the Granite County Hospital District for both the hospital building and the Drummond Clinic," Brian said. He said the leases are substantially the same as the prior agreement and that the hospital district has completed some improvements.
A commissioner moved to accept the two five-year leases; the board approved the motion by voice vote. County staff discussed notarization of signature pages and coordinating to return signed copies to the hospital district. No changes to lease rents or terms were described at the meeting; the board accepted the proposed five-year extension and arranged for signatures and notary steps.
