City Attorney Jared Reed told the council that “in order to, take that off the agenda and postpone the, public hearing of April 22 for organs 1,313 o 1, you would need a motion postpone it to 05/13/2025, and then we would like to go out giving the appropriate notices in the advertisement for that public hearing.”
Following Reed’s procedural guidance, the council made two separate motions. The first motion postponed the in-person and telephonic public hearing related to Ordinance 1313-01 to the May 13 regular council meeting; the mayor called the vote and six members present voted in favor. The second motion kept the public record open for written testimony on Ordinance 1313-01 until May 13; that motion was moved by Councilmember (unnamed), seconded, and also passed unanimously with six aye votes.
There was no substantive debate recorded on the ordinance during the meeting. The council then adjourned. The actions extend the public-comment period and delay any in-person testimony originally scheduled for April 22, giving residents additional time to submit written comments before the May 13 hearing.
