The North Little Rock Planning Commission unanimously approved a conditional-use permit to allow a daycare at 2501 North Poplar.
Applicant Tamika Fowler told the commission she had reviewed and agreed to the planning staff's conditions. "Yes, sir," Fowler said when asked whether she accepted those conditions.
During discussion, a staff member explained why the commission was processing a conditional-use application rather than a special-use notice that had been used previously. "We didn't have conditional uses in 2008... there it's now conditional uses where it travels with the property, so we don't have to come back again," the staff member said, noting that the conditions will apply to future owners as the permission is tied to the property.
No members of the public spoke in opposition. The commission approved the application by roll call; the applicant was told to meet with planning staff to learn next steps.
The commission's approval attaches the staff-recommended conditions, and the applicant will follow the staff's procedural guidance for final permitting steps.
