A staff member told the commission, "I have not been able to get in contact with them... we postponed from last meeting due to notice and have not received the notice nor have she made contact back with me." Commissioners and staff also noted trucks were observed on the site and that the use appeared to have continued for years without proper permits.
Commissioner White said the commission lacked documentation that notice had been completed: "Don't have any proof that they've done notice yet. So that's our whole thing is we we're not able to vote on it because we don't know if there's notice been done yet." The commission voted to postpone the item. Commissioner Chambers moved to postpone; the motion was seconded and the postponement carried by voice vote. The commission said the case would be postponed one final time to the next meeting; if the applicant failed to appear then the application would be removed from the agenda.
Staff and commissioners discussed the property's history: planning staff described two separate truck operators associated with the site and said the existing operation had been in place for years; the commission indicated any compliance issues would be handled through code enforcement if the applicant later sought approval.
The commission did not take a final vote on the parking request at the meeting.
