Resident warns of safety risks at Highway 60/Mid Florida Credit Union entrance

He provided a flyer to the mayor and a photocopy of a map and said the realignment of the turn lane could force left-turning drivers to slide in the eastbound lane before completing the turn. He warned that, in his view, the geometry combined with high speeds “is not a good situation” and could produce collisions.
Commissioners noted the road is a state facility and may be under state or county jurisdiction, but Deputy Mayor Curtis Gibson and other commissioners said they would explore traffic-calming or police assistance during the construction period. The chief of police was noted as taking the matter under advisement in the meeting.
