Students showcase K‑Kids service projects and school garden activities

Students described specific activities such as making bracelets, decorating books, and participating in an egg‑fill effort tied to local food banks.
Miss Richard, a fifth‑grade teacher and garden partner, described the garden program’s goals: student leadership opportunities, lessons connected to plant life cycles, composting, and creating a harvest that can be used in school markets. Students described crops they have grown — peas, lettuce, cabbage, broccoli and other vegetables — and how garden work builds stewardship and teamwork skills.
Speakers thanked parent volunteers and community partners and invited board members and the public to visit the garden and the students’ display items after the meeting. The presentation was informational; no board action was recorded.
