Solid Waste Committee to consider swap‑shop coordinator appointments; Sumner meeting set for April 22

Town staff and committee members said the coordinator position was an appointment made by the Solid Waste Committee for a one‑year period and that the committee will review whether to reappoint the incumbent or select a new coordinator at its next meeting. The committee’s next meeting was scheduled for April 22 at 5:30 p.m. in Sumner (Town Office), and staff said they believe the Sumner meeting may not support Zoom; the meeting is expected to be recorded and possibly uploaded to YouTube but residents should check the town calendar for confirmation.

Azalea Cormier (email azaleacormier@townofbuckfield.org) asked residents who are interested in the coordinator role to submit their names and contact information by email; staff said those submissions will be shared with the Solid Waste Committee for consideration. Committee membership was described as including three select board members from Sumner plus other committee members; Bob was identified in the meeting as chair of the committee and Heather as a committee member.

Staff said they will accept submissions by email and circulate applicant names to the committee in advance of the April 22 meeting so the committee can discuss the coordinator appointment at that meeting. Residents who cannot attend in person were told they may email the coordinator‑interest inbox, and staff will share feedback with the committee.
