Resolution 1560 — Purchase of 2024 Ford F-550 truck with dump body for the Water Department: Approved, roll call vote unanimous. Public Works Director Chad Birdsall reported the vehicle is a 2024 one-and-a-half-ton 4x4 cab-chassis with dump body purchased from Olathe Commercial Sales at a municipal price of $92,392, within the department's $95,000 budget; the truck will replace a 2006 Ford F-1150 (144,443 miles) and be sold at auction later.
Resolution 1561 — Purchase of 2025 GMC 1500 pickup for the Pollution Department: Approved, roll call vote unanimous. Birdsall presented the low bid from Roberts Robertson (Robertson Chevrolet Buick GMC) for $43,008.56; the vehicle is a 2025 model used as a loaner with 2,312 miles and is within the Pollution Department’s 2025 budgeted amount of $50,000.
Resolution 1562 — Change Order #1 with Mega KC Corporation for the Dry Fork Greenway project: Approved, roll call vote unanimous. Change Order #1 adds pavement and other items: replacing 1,761 square yards of asphalt with 8-inch concrete ($101.53/sq yd), installing a fire hydrant and valve assembly ($11,300), foundation stabilization under a reinforced concrete culvert (158 sq yd at $111.18/sq yd) and a slab barrier tie-in ($2,732.72). The change order totals $125,865.49, increasing the contract from $3,446,468.25 to $3,572,333.34 and leaving approximately $192,115.26 available for additional change orders.
Ordinance 25-04-01 — Agreement with the Department of the Army for design and construction assistance on sewer-main improvements: Approved (second reading), roll call vote unanimous. Chad Birdsall said the federal contribution under the agreement is $1,925,000 (75%) with a city match of $641,666.67 (25%), for a total project cost of $2,566,666.67. The work targets rehabilitation and lining of existing sewer mains in neighborhoods including Wilson Acres, Glenwood/Wildwood/Lynnwood area, Gulf Hill Drive, East Valley Park, Forest Drive, Bell Drive and Old Time Drive. McClure Engineering will serve as design engineer; a separate agreement with McClure was announced as forthcoming.
Ordinance 25-04-03 — Authorization to destroy certain municipal records: Approved (second reading), roll call vote unanimous. City Manager Molly McGovern told the council the list follows the Secretary of State’s retention guidelines; staff plan to hold on-site shredding in May and indicated which departments’ records meet retention schedules.
Motion to close the regular session and go into a closed session pursuant to RSMo §610.021(1) and §610.021(2): Approved, roll call vote unanimous. The council closed the regular session at 6:34 p.m.
