School board votes to convene closed session on student records and legal matters

A motion was made at the chair's request to convene closed session “to discuss the investigation of a student matter preserved to the scholastic record exemption of §2.2-3711(A)(2) of the Code of Virginia and for consultation with legal counsel and briefings by staff members pertaining to actual or probable litigation…pursuant to §2.2-3711(A)(7) of the Code of Virginia.” The motion was seconded and the clerk conducted a roll-call vote. The transcript records “Yes, ma'am” for the roll-call entries following the motion for Mister Greenway, Mister Wagner, Mister Hudson and Miss Coleman; the clerk recorded affirmative votes and the motion carried.
The board then moved into the closed-session portion of the meeting. The work session minutes record the motion and the unanimous roll-call confirmation of the members who were polled at that time.
