Todd Cagle asked the Roanoke County School Board on May 1 to place a list of surplus items on the next meeting’s consent agenda so the division can dispose of equipment no longer useful to the schools.
“The full list is available in board docs, but it's primarily food service equipment and then a few items that are either no longer functional or no longer useful to the school system,” Cagle said. He read a short list that included food warmers, a solar-powered trainer that he said no longer functions, kettles, meat slicers and swing-door operators (door closers).
Cagle asked if there were objections and said he would request the board add the list to the consent agenda for the next meeting for formal surplus approval. No objections were raised during the work-session discussion.
A board member thanked Cagle for his recent work on an unrelated situation; no further debate or amendments were recorded. The presentation was informational with a request to place the surplus list on the consent agenda rather than a formal vote at the work session.
