Council authorizes bidding for Newman Road sanitary sewer replacement, to be paid from impact fees

Public works staff said the project would replace about 4,780 linear feet of sanitary sewer, install 19 manholes, and include trench safety, traffic control and stormwater pollution-prevention measures. Staff said the existing force-main configuration in parts of the area prevents additional connections and that a new gravity sewer run, once completed, will allow future homes to connect and reduce chronic odor and backup complaints.
