Council adopts Public Improvement District policy with $25,000 nonrefundable fee

The Mount Pleasant City Council approved a new Public Improvement District (PID) policy, adopting an amendment to set the nonrefundable application fee at $25,000. Council members said the policy brings the city into alignment with other Texas municipalities and provides guidelines for future PID developments, bond issuances and related oversight.
Councilwoman Spruill moved approval of the policy with the $25,000 nonrefundable fee replacing a previously published $15,000 figure; a councilmember seconded and the motion passed. In her remarks Spruill said the policy will help the city manage new development concepts and align procedures with other cities in the state.
Council approved the policy by voice vote and the city secretary was directed to record the change in the published policy document.
