The committee’s discussion emphasized historical and tourism benefits for Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey if Congress holds the event.
Two chambers — the New Jersey State Chamber of Commerce (Mike Egington) and the Chamber of Commerce of Southern New Jersey (Hillary Chebrough) — submitted slips in favor and did not testify in person. The committee voted to amend and release AR154.
The resolution requests that the 119th Congress reintroduce and swiftly pass a congressional resolution comparable to the prior Congress’s House Resolution 115; committee members recorded unanimous support in the roll call and the resolution was released as amended.
