Council authorizes acceptance of temporary construction easements for East Anderson stormwater project

Mexico, Missouri — The Mexico City Council on March 10 approved a resolution (Bill 2025-14) authorizing the city to accept temporary construction easements needed for the East Anderson Street stormwater improvement project, which is funded in part by an ARPA grant.
City staff said the project is part of stormwater improvements the city is implementing with an ARPA-related DNR grant and that the easements are temporary only; no permanent easements are proposed. Drew Williford told council the work area runs from East Anderson to Jefferson and down to the town branch and that staff has met with impacted residents.
Staff said Sam Gaines Construction is the contractor on the project and that a total of nine easements will be required for construction. The council read the resolution by title and passed Bill 2025-14 unanimously.
The resolution authorizes the city manager to accept the temporary construction easements and proceed with project permitting and construction.
