Mexico, Missouri — The Mexico City Council on March 10 approved Bill 2025-11, an ordinance authorizing the city manager to sign a supplemental agreement extending the deadline for the Pollock Road Bridge replacement project.
City staff said the Pollock Road Bridge project is funded through a BR0/bridge grant administered with the Missouri Department of Transportation. Drew Williford told council that the project’s original deadline had been Nov. 1, 2024, and staff previously extended the deadline to March 1, 2025 because of wetland mitigation and right-of-way acquisition delays. Staff reported a recent bid opening and recommended executing supplemental agreement number 2 to extend the contract deadline to Sept. 1, 2025. Williford said the extension carries no additional cost; it is administrative to preserve the grant and allow time for contract execution.
Councilmember Keith Briggs moved for passage and the motion passed unanimously with councilmembers Briggs, Weber, Williams and Miller recorded as voting yes.
The ordinance authorizes the city manager to sign the supplemental agreement with the Missouri Highway/Transportation Commission for the Pollock Road Bridge (BRO R1191).
