The Assembly Transportation and Independent Authorities Committee on Feb. 13 voted to release Assembly Bill 4733, the Welcome Home Veterans Act, which requires MDC to provide veterans benefit information packets.
The bill, identified on the committee agenda as Assembly Bill 47 33, was introduced as the sponsor’s measure to improve distribution of benefits information to veterans across the state. Committee members discussed the sponsor’s intent briefly before moving the measure for release to the full Assembly.
Committee staff read the bill summary into the record and Assembly members moved and seconded the motion to release the bill. After roll call voting by members present, the committee reported the measure out for further consideration by the full Assembly.
The committee did not adopt any substantive amendments during the brief discussion. No witnesses or members of the public offered testimony on the bill during the meeting.
The committee’s action advances the proposal to the next legislative stage; the bill text and any subsequent amendments will be available with the Assembly’s bill packet when it is scheduled for floor action.
