The council introduced a bond ordinance that groups funding for the Willow Field improvements and a public‑safety camera project, and staff briefed the council on the cameras procurement and plans to declare some police equipment surplus for auction.
Borough administration explained that Ordinance 25-09 is a bond ordinance to finance multiple capital projects, including the Willow Field improvements and a camera program. Staff said they combined both items in one bond ordinance to achieve cost efficiencies on bond counsel fees. The council approved the ordinance for introduction and set it for public hearing and final adoption at the scheduled later meeting.
Separately, borough staff told the council they had met with multiple vendors and selected a vendor for the camera program; the public may request to view the proposal through the clerk’s office. The agenda included a line item to declare a Dodge Durango and a speed sign as surplus to be auctioned.
Quotes "Right. So we have to retain bond counsel for these types of activities. And there's a cost efficiency in putting one bond ordinance together rather than three because our bond counsel does charge per ordinance," a borough official said.
Ending The bond ordinance was introduced and will be considered for final adoption at the next meeting; camera contract documents and surplus-equipment auction details will be posted with the clerk and returned to the council for formal action as required by statute.
