The Rye Brook Planning Board on May 8 adopted a resolution granting amended site plan approval for driveway reconfiguration at 35 Meadowlark Road, an application filed by the property owners Scott and Stacy Schwartz and represented by architect John G. Scarlato.
The change was presented as a reconfiguration of the driveway to improve access and turnaround capability; the applicant described a low retaining wall and front-yard landscaping to soften the view and to screen a utility pole and wire. The board determined the application is a Type II action under SEQRA and moved to adopt the resolution as read.
Scarlato said the house is under construction and that moving the driveway "actually works better" because the original position on a downhill curve made backing out hazardous. The revised plan adds a hammerhead turnaround that allows vehicles to pull into the garage and exit forward.
Planning consultant Sarah Brown confirmed she received an updated plan and found it acceptable. The board adopted the resolution (read at the meeting as Planning Board Application 24OO7) by unanimous vote; members present voted yes on the motion to adopt.
