The Village of Fredonia Board of Trustees took a series of routine votes during its March 3 workshop and regular meeting, approving banner requests, membership dues, a DPW furnace replacement, training attendance and the summer farmers market schedule.
Key approvals (votes recorded in meeting minutes):
- Approval to hang a Fredonia High School drama banner promoting the spring musical Something Rotten across Temple Street (March 10–29). Vote: unanimous (Trustee Esperson, Trustee Brockler, Trustee Syracuse, Trustee Wandel — Aye).
- Approval for Festivals Fredonia to hang event banners across Temple Street two weeks prior to listed events (Easter Festival, Italian Heritage Festival, Red, White and Blue Festival, Harvest Moon Festival, Miracle on Main Street). Vote: unanimous.
- Approval to hang a banner for Northern Chautauqua Catholic School (date noted as March 21). Vote: unanimous.
- Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce membership renewal approved ($550). Vote: unanimous.
- Authorization to pay Gugino (Continuous) Plumbing & Heating Inc. $3,600 for replacement and installation of a furnace at the DPW. Vote: unanimous.
- Training requests approved: water treatment operator Louis Fred to attend a Water Quality Monitoring workshop (Findlay Lake, 03/19/2025) and wastewater operator David Phelps to attend the Greater Buffalo Environmental Conference (03/18/2025) at a cost not to exceed $323.80. Vote: unanimous.
- Farmers Market permitted to use 911 Church Street and Eastburg Commons on Saturday mornings from 05/17/2025 through 10/25/2025 (closing portions of Church Street as needed), use of downstairs restrooms and equipment shed, and a requested concert reservation pending confirmation. Vote: unanimous; subject to direction and control of Fredonia Police Department.
Minutes approval and other routine housekeeping matters were also adopted by unanimous voice vote.
