The board also approved a proposal to implement a four‑day workweek for 12‑month employees during the summer work period, with daily hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and approved VSBA policy updates as presented.
On special education, the board accepted the division's 2025–26 special education annual plan as presented by the director of pupil personnel services and voted to continue the division's partnership with external providers: the board approved a contract with Allied Instructional Services to provide school psychologists, occupational therapists, speech therapists and vision/hearing services the division would otherwise staff directly.
The board authorized multiple memoranda of understanding and partnerships: a summer programming MOU with the YMCA Power Scholars Academy, a free implementation partnership with Corpus K‑12 to support individualized reading plans tied to Virginia Literacy Act benchmarks, an agreement to place a communications junction box on campus with EastMed to improve internet service, and a five‑year memorandum of agreement with District 19 to continue adult education services shared among eight school divisions (Greensville County's portion noted as $5,037 annually). Each item was approved by voice vote.
At the meeting's end the board returned from closed session and voted to approve recommendations discussed in closed session; the motion was approved by voice vote and recorded as carried.
