Goochland school board elects Meredith Moses chair, Karen Worsing vice chair and approves designees, clerk and meeting schedule

At its Jan. 14 organizational meeting the Goochland County School Board elected Meredith Moses chair and Karen Worsing vice chair, appointed Robin Anderson as board clerk and FOIA officer, approved superintendent designees and agents for fiscal year 2025, adopted the 2025 meeting schedule and filled representative and advisory‑committee seats.
The Goochland County School Board held its 2025 organizational meeting on Jan. 14 and completed the board’s annual officer elections and appointments.
Meredith Moses, the board representative from District 1, was nominated and elected chair. Karen Worsing was nominated and elected vice chair. The board then appointed Robin Anderson as school board clerk and FOIA officer for 2025.
The board approved the superintendent’s recommended designees — Stephen A. Geier, Jennifer C. Wagner and Stephanie S. Wyche — to attend meetings and sign official correspondence for the period 01/01/2025 to 12/31/2025. The board also appointed Stephanie S. Wyche as agent and Stephen A. Geier and Jennifer C. Wagner as deputy agents authorized to sign contracts and examine and approve claims for the same period.
The board approved its calendar of regular meetings for 2025 and voted to fill several representative roles on regional education bodies: Meredith Moses will continue as the representative to the Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School Board, with Ms. Allen named the alternate; Ellen Robinson was appointed to the Blue Ridge Governor’s School Board. The board created a new School Finance Committee with two members (Ms. Allen and Ms. Maxwell) and approved representatives to a slate of advisory committees, including facilities and safety, gifted, school health, equity, CTE, the Goochland Education Foundation and special education.
Ending The board approved the slate of committee appointments and adjourned the organizational portion of its meeting prior to the regular business meeting and budget presentation.
