Riverside Township officials opened a public hearing on the proposed 2025-26 budget and made the document available for inspection; no members of the public asked questions, and the hearing was adjourned with the budget scheduled for approval at the board’s regular meeting later the same evening.
The hearing began with a call to order and Trustee Clark leading the Pledge of Allegiance: "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." Clerk Reyes then called the roll; Trustee Clark, Trustee Heilenbach, Trustee DeCostelev, Trustee Carroll and Supervisor Wilt were recorded as present, establishing a quorum.
Clerk Reyes told attendees the budget had been made available in the township office for inspection. Officials invited questions or commentary on the proposed 2025-26 township budget but none were raised during the hearing. The chair noted that, absent questions, the budget would be placed on the regular meeting agenda that evening for consideration and possible approval.
Trustee Clark moved to adjourn the public hearing; Trustee Carroll seconded the motion. Board members approved the motion by voice vote, and the hearing was closed. No substantive discussion of line items, revenues, expenditures or specific funding sources occurred during the public hearing portion of the meeting.
The board took no formal action to adopt the budget at the hearing; final action on the 2025-26 budget was to occur during the board’s regular meeting later the same evening.
