After review, staff recommended the low bidder be awarded Contract B for the work, which includes replacement of pumps, motors, piping, and major electrical components at the Oak Creek intake and two booster stations.
The city noted the contract is funded through the TWDB Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (subproject number 62897) and that the award is contingent on agency approval. City staff cautioned that higher‑than‑expected bids for the pump‑station work would likely reduce the pool of TWDB funds available for other waterline replacements; staff said they would pursue cost savings via construction change orders where feasible.
The council moved to award the contract and the motion passed by voice vote with no recorded opposition. Staff will return with documentation for TWDB and any required contract changes.
