Staff reported two proposals and a review-panel recommendation to select Apodaca Booking, with bids in the range of $85,000–$100,000 for a full production package. Council members asked staff to supply references, confirm prior-year spending (staff later cited about $68,889 total last year) and provide examples of events the vendors had produced. Several council members said they wanted more documentation before committing a large, single-year production budget. One member suggested the city retain control of alcohol sales to capture concession revenue; staff said the alcohol approach was still under discussion.
After discussion, Councilman Garcia moved and Councilwoman Cruz seconded to table the item pending staff contact with vendor references and delivery of comparative cost data from prior years. The motion passed unanimously.
