The mayor noted the unanimous approval and praised staff work, saying, “I believe that means that Joe's all your hard work and the team's hard work on some of these zoning changes and the tree preservation ordinance will now be in effect. So good job on that. Congrats, guys.”
Councilman Bonner moved to approve the consent agenda and Councilman Hudson seconded; the motion passed unanimously (7–0). No items were removed from the consent agenda.
City Manager Dan also gave brief updates during the meeting, telling council members that the MEDC meeting will be held the following evening at 6 p.m. and that the facility naming committee will hold its kickoff meeting on June 3; he noted councilman Harry is a committee member.
The council did not take separate votes on individual consent items during the meeting; the single consent motion enacted all items on the consent list.
