Snohomish County staff requested March 25 that the Health and Community Services Committee move several contracts under the Community Navigator Program to the GLS consent agenda for approval.
Cynthia Foley, Council staff, said the contracts are funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Immunization COVID-19 Vaccine Community Navigator Program grant. Under the contracts, service providers would employ community navigators to disseminate public-health information in culturally relevant formats to marginalized communities and communities with the lowest COVID-19 vaccination rates in Snohomish County. Foley identified the providers the department is seeking to contract with as North County Family Services, Clearwater School, Washington West African Center, "Nashi Immigrants Health Board," Volunteers of America Western Washington, and the Center for Human Services. Staff asked that motions (listed in the record as 25-146, 25-159, 25-160, 25-163, 25-166 and 25-167) be placed on the GLS consent agenda.
Committee members raised no questions; the items were moved to the GLS consent agenda for April 2. The record shows these are grant-funded contracts for community outreach to groups with lower COVID-19 vaccination rates; the motions were presented for consent placement and no formal committee votes or public comments were recorded.
