Snohomish County staff seek consent approval to expand and extend health department strategic plan contract

Snohomish County staff asked the Health and Community Services Committee March 25 to move a contract amendment with Del Peguero LLC to the GLS consent agenda to expand the scope of a comprehensive strategic plan for the county health department.
Cynthia Foley, Council staff, said Amendment No. 1 expands the contractor's scope: for each goal area in the plan the contractor will develop strategies and SMARTIE objectives (strategic, measurable, ambitious, realistic, time-bound, inclusive and equitable) and will work with staff to develop strategies to achieve completion of the objectives. The amendment extends the contract time period to Oct. 15, 2025 and increases the not-to-exceed amount by $65,000, bringing the contract total to $144,999. Foley said the contract amendment is paid for with public health general fund dollars and there is a possibility of using state foundational public health services funding. Staff requested expedited approval to extend the contract before it expires on March 31 and asked that the motion be placed on the GLS consent agenda on March 26.
No committee members raised questions; the chair moved the item to the GLS consent agenda for March 26. The record shows the amendment changes the contract scope, adds SMARTIE objective development, extends the timeline and increases funding as described by staff. Final contract execution and any subsequent amendments will follow county contracting procedures.
